I went into the Thrift Store and was surprised how rude the lady behind the counter was. You really need someone to actually speak with people and tell them about what you offer. I like the idea of your concept. But you need people who are committed to helping you.
I too was very disappointed when I went in a few times too. I was thinking it would be more like Free Geek, but I was sadly let down.
You need to offer a discount to people like Free Geek did after just 4 hours of volunteering. Having to wait 24 hours of volunteering is too hard on low income families who may not qualify for a free computer.
I would rather see a sliding scale of discount on how much you volunteer. You could limit discounts to once a month and a set dollar limit.
I liked how Free Geek did it. You should use the same formula.
